Today we're wishing the happiest of birthdays to our Maestro Tranquiliano Palencia Estruch, better known as Tano. Recognised by @unesco as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the knowledge of Tano and the Maestros del Ron Cubano is a life-long learning process that has been passed down from generation to generation. The recognition highlights the traditional, scientific, and sensory knowledge of the Maestro’s and their following of an ethical code that respects Cuban rum culture.
Tano, among the other Maestros del Ron Cubano, is responsible for protecting the ageing cellars, understanding the contents of each barrel and their characteristics, and how they blend and mix to result in a unique flavour and texture.
Let’s raise a glass in celebration of his expertise and passion... Salud!
